Your Personal Paleo Code is a well-thought-out manual for turning your modern life into one that was approved by your genes and very reminiscent of another great paleo starter book: “Zero to Paleo“, which deals more with cultural and historical physiology. “Code” brings a personal aspect to the diet and breaking out of the one-size-fits-all model.book-rendering-2With a simple three-step (Reset your diet, Rebuild your life, Revive your health) plan, you can fit your specific physiology into the diet of our ancestors. This is fantastic because not all people are lactose intolerant and yogurt is a great addition to a healthy diet (not to mention the frozen kind). He also brings a natural approach to non-paleo foods. Instead of working skim milk into your diet, he recommends “full-fat” dairy. MMMM

So what Kresser is saying brilliantly is that we don’t all have to eat the same exact thing to be our ideal healthy versions of ourselves. We all have different reactions to different foods. Of course, this personalization of the paleo diet risks losing the wonderful simplicity that paleo offers, but many readers will find it refreshing.

In addition, this book has a wonderful online companion (that Kresser refers to often in the book) in which readers can utilize to get their diet on track.
